MEDIA TRANSMITION
Commonly media that is used in the network is cable and wireless.
Kinds of cable
- UTP (Unslielded Twisted Pair) Ordinarily this cable is used in LAN System because it is cheap. the weakness is the signals in one line can mix with other line (croastalk).to connecting with pc we can use RJ-45 connector. to decrease problem croatalk we can use STP cable. UTP and STP have maximum length 100 m.
- Coaxial cable ordinarily it's used in ethernet, tv cable, and antena tv. Two kinds that is: 1. Thinnet (0,25 inch, with length transfer data 185 m) 2. Thicknet ( 0,5 inch, length trnsfer data 500 m) 3. Coaxial use connctor BNC (British Noval Connector) |

- Fiber Optic this cable transfer data in the light form. data that is transfered could not be stealed. very good using for network with high transfer (100mbps- 1gbps) |
