bought 5 pounds of buttons @ Carvers Cloth & Wholesale. I got the 5 pounds for $20.00 plus tax (even though they were being sent out of state) and shipping. The total was only $26.85 though, so still not bad. The mixture included quite a few small ones, as well as metallics, etc. Many matches, many none matches. It was a big project for us to sort. But it was fun. The older kids even helped.

I may be wrong here, but I'm under the impression that the whole point of buying bulk (buttons) is that they're not sorted. I envision big barrels that they just scoop out of to fill an order. At any rate, I've used a lot of the buttons. Both for crafts and for sewing clothing. Not a bad investment at all.
