Converting Flat Sheets to Fitted

Yes, I use queen size flat sheets to make a king size fitted sheet. I take the hems out of both ends, cut out a 10" square from each corner and then miter them. I put the elastic all the way around and use 50% of the distance for the amount of 3/8" soft braided polyester swimwear elastic. Ijust serge the elastic on using a 3-3.5mm stitch length. I use the 10"cut-out because we have a deep mattress. Measure the depth of the mattress and add 2" for the amount to cut out of the corners. I have also made fitted sheets out of nylon tricot.  Anne St. ClairNeedle Nook FabricsWichita, KS
