Fleece Ear Warmers
Docco
Anyway - for medium adults - cut a strip of fleece about 7 1/2 x 20. Elementary school size - 6 1/2 by 19. Fold in half the long way, wso, pin, pin, pin; sew the long seam with a narrow zigzag and 2mm length and between 1/4 to 1/2" allowance (this thing has got to stretch a lot), evert tube rso.
Trim off unevenness on the short ends. Arrange so seam in the center of one surface of the flattened tube. With the seam side facing out, place the two short ends of the tube together (four layers of fabric), pin once from somewhere inside the tube to keep the outsides and seam of the tube aligned.
Sew as much of the short seam as you can from the insides of the short ends (1/4" allowance), starting about an inch towards the long seam side surface of the flattened tube and moving away from the long seam. Sort out the short seam by pulling the tube taut the long way, and tuck the remaining open seam allowances inside their respective sources so that the folded ends meet. (Oh, remove the inside pin first - actually sewed one in) Turn the tube so that the long seam is on the inside (head side) surface and centered. Using the widest zigzag you've got, stitch down the short seam from the outside surface, covering the seam with zigzags - seals that open part of the short seam, and looks pretty good.
Done! Can add decorative stretch stitches as borders, bindings, etc.
