Ink Removal
From: "Pam Cole"
I've seen lots of responses recommending hair spray to remove ink stains. The "active ingredient" in hair spray that removes ink stains is good ol' rubbing alcohol. The alcohol alone works even better than the hairspray does. The reason the cheaper hair sprays work better at this, is that they have more alcohol in them. Save your money on the hair spray, and just buy alcohol! Here's how to use it: Put a towel under the area that is stained. Pour a little alcohol onto the ink stain. Let it soak in a minute or so, then blot it with another towel. Repeat till the ink is dissolved. This works wonderfully on ball-point ink and it is how the nurses at the hospital I used to volunteer at got the ink out of their uniform pockets (and got inkoff the nursing station counter). I also used this to get rid of ink stains on my lab coat when I worked at the blood bank. Hope this helps.
