Solarknit and Solarweave

>I have started looking for fabric. At the one supplier I found, white stuff called Solarknit (from Weather or Not, Albany OR) is $17.95 yd, 60 in. width. The catalog from these folks is cute and inviting, but the price!

Hi, I'm replying to the list in case others are interested. To my knowledge, Weather or Not is the only supplier of Solarknit and Solarweave. Solarweave is 100% nylon, Solarknit is knit cotton/poly. Solarweave is 13.95 yard I believe. This is a wonderful fabric and if you had been only able to buy the clothes before---as I have for the last 8 years---you would think the price is a bargain! I say this because RTW from these fabrics is $60-70. for a skirt, $50.-80. for a shirt and $70--$90. for pants. So you see, for us sewists, the price per yard is not at all bad by comparison. I have done extensive research on this subject, since I am extremely sun sensitive. The nylon is very lightweight and comfy even in high heat; I have worn them on vacation in Florida, because it's the only way I can go outside there in the daytime at all.
