Six Flags Over Georgia introduces five new family rides for 2004

Atlanta - Six Flags Over Georgia will make significant additions to its family entertainment package in 2004 including 5 new rides that parents and kids can enjoy together. With the addition of new rides, a new show, and several other park attractions and amenities, Six Flags Over Georgia offers more for families to do than ever before.

"These new additions and improvements are designed to reaffirm Six Flags Over Georgia's position as the very best family vacation value in the Southeast," explained Melinda Ashcraft, Vice President and General Manager of Six Flags Over Georgia.

This summer Six Flags Over Georgia unveils its tenth roller coaster, Wile E. Coyote Canyon Blaster based on the Warner Bros. Looney Tunes character, Wile E. Coyote. Specifically designed for families with kids over 36 inches, this 900 foot-long steel coaster is mild enough to deliver big thrills for the little ones and still entertain mom and dad. This unique ride winds its riders in and out of the old Spanish fort located in Bugs Bunny World, at kid-sized speeds of just under 30 mph. With the addition of this ride, the park's coaster collection offers something for all age groups and experience levels.

Six Flags Over Georgia unveils its most diverse family package ever with the addition of five new family rides and park improvements. The kids' section of the park will now extend past the old Spanish fort across a convenient new bridge that leads to Carousel Hill, where a few more of the new attractions will be located. Up, Up & Away will delight younger riders with twelve, balloon-shaped gondolas twirling through gently through the sky. Kids will love the unique sensations of Rockin' Tug, which simulates the motions of a boat on the open ocean.

Gotham City will be the site of Gotham City Crime Wave, a high-flying swing ride that will be a blast for both kids and adults. This attraction spins riders in a wave-like motion 30 feet above Gotham City's pedestrians below.

Also new this year, Six Flags introduces a new indoor attraction, Shake Rattle & Roll. This unique ride experience will be unveiled in the Spring of 2004, boasting a 50's theme that thrills with sight, sound, and motion. Riders will enter via an unassuming façade, before they spin through an interior decked out in pink Cadillacs, poodle skirts, and music from this classic era.

Also making its debut in the USA section of the park is Totally Pop, Six Flags' newest show at the Drive-In Theatre. This high-energy show is sure to be a hit that crosses several generations. Featuring the best pop hits from the last 30 years, these nostalgic tunes are sure to linger with the audience for days.

In addition to the rides and attractions, Six Flags Over Georgia has added several amenities to help make a family visit to the park even more enjoyable. In 2004 guests can expect to see increased tram service, new family-oriented dining options, and an overall increase in guest-first programs.

Six Flags Over Georgia opens early this season with weekend operation beginning March 6, 2004. It then opens daily for Spring Break April 3-11, with daily summer operations beginning May 21, 2004.
