Things that go “Boo” in the night

Six Flags Over Georgia haunted by annual Fright Fest Weekends in October!

September 14, 2004

Atlanta, Ga. - Halloween arrives early at Six Flags Over Georgia, where some of the scariest ghosts and ghouls come to spook guests at the park’s annual Fright Fest. This Halloween extravaganza, the largest and most diverse of its kind in the Southeast, will creep into town during weekends in October.

Are you afraid of the dark? The Dungeon of Darkness is an experiment in terror that capitalizes on the most basic of human fears – the dark. Those who dare to visit this place will be entombed in a suffocating maze-like dungeon and must face the complete unknown in their struggle to escape. Their only aid in this seemingly impossible quest: a single, pitiful flashlight.

Also returning this year are the Divas of Darkness. This frightening female trio will be performing several live shows directly in front of the Dungeon of Darkness for park guests. Join the dynamic Divas of Darkness as they dance the night away! But beware - if you cross these evil sisters you might get caught in their Time Warp!

Not for the faint of heart, Fearman’s Manor returns this year hosted by Lord and Lady Fearman, the resident undertakers of Six Flags Over Georgia. Guests are cautioned to enter at their own risk and tour 16 frightening rooms throughout the manor. The Fearman family also tends to roam throughout the park from time to time.

In addition to the haunted houses and shows, Six Flags Over Georgia boasts an assortment of thrilling attractions for all ages. Children as small as 36 inches can enjoy the park’s tenth coaster, Wile E. Coyote Canyon Blaster based on the Warner Bros. Looney Tunes character, Wile E. Coyote. The new coaster is located in Bugs Bunny World, an area specifically designed with families in mind. Here, children can trick-or-treat with Bugs Bunny and his Looney Tunes who will also be dressed for the occasion.

Fright Fest takes place all weekends in October. Hours of operation are Fridays from 6 p.m.–11 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m.-10 p.m., Sundays from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. The park is also open for a bonus day Monday Oct. 11 from 10 a.m.– 6 p.m. General admission is $42.99 for adults and $24.99 for kids 48” and shorter. Discounted daily admission tickets are available at most Publix Supermarkets. Fearman’s Manor and Dungeons of Darkness are available for a nominal fee.
