Kaede Nonohara is the combat butler of the Azumamiya family. He encourages his master to be a gentleman and to be manly enough to fight his own battles even if he were to lose. However, if his master were to act as a weakling, he will educate him by beating him senseless. He even trained him to be physically and mentally strong literally.

Kaede is very quick and is able to do a Tatsumaki Senpuukyaku (hurricane kick) like attack. His ultimate attack is the Safety Shutter: Grand Explosion Immolating Dark Murder! which is a fire attack released from the edge of his sword in the shape of a dragon that engulfs the oponent in flames. Kaede's only weakness is seeing his master getting hit by his own ultimate attack. He is called upon by his master to battle Hayate when they meet at the kendo dojo leaded by Hina. He is defeated by Hayate with great effort. He is the one who told him that Hayate will need to learn a ultimate move to stay strong and protect his master. He participated in the Butler Battle Tournament for Koutarou but is defeated by Hina in the quarterfinals.
