With some magic fingers, the Phoenix Contact modem in the leased-line mode worked! Now I designed the test programme for timing the delays. I finished the delays for the 9600 baud rate.

Tuesday 16.09.2003

I tested the system with other baud rates of 19200, 4800 and 2400 for delays. I drew a conclusion from all the resutls and found out that the system operated with minimum delay when the baud rate is set to 9600.

With confidence that the Phoenix contact modem works, I tried to connect them through the telephone exchange. This exchange simultes the real-life case where the stations are far apart and are connected together by leasing telephone lines from a telecommunications company. No progress today as nothing worked.

I kept on trying but there wasn't any result!

Friday 19.09.2003

Once again with some magic fingers, the dialing system worked. In the evening my partner and I cooked curry, yello rice and Roti Prata for Stefan Schrader. He was a student from FH Lippe who was attached to Mr Chua's DAB lab. We thoroughly enjoyed the night together.

I went to Heidepark in Soltau. This theme park is really big with lots of roller coasters. I rode on Colossius, the main attraction in the park, 4 times. This roller coaster has the Guniess World Record for being the steepest roller coaster at 61°.
