We closed the first task and cleaned and packed up our workplace. We were given the second task and asked to translate it.

We were given some new hardware. We fixed up another test system as described in the task description given to us on the previous day. I drafted my interim report.

Mr Pucker gave us some function blocks for the task. He taught us how to use it and tried some examples. I continued to write up my interim report. Mr Hadi took us for another tour around Phoenix Contact.

We tried to transmit some signals ourselves today. We managed to transmit digital word (16-bit) values as well as analogue voltages. Voltage transmission was quite tricky because the number range used by the input and output were not similar. Some mathematics were involved to transmit the voltage correctly.

We tried to programme the master to time the delay of the digital transmission. Prof Meier paid us a visit and checked on how we got on. Due to transportation arrangements we left the office at 13:00.

Visited the town centre. Enquired about some train ticket prices.

In the evening, went to a pub with 2 German students from FH Lippe who will be doing their attachment in NP form Octobr 2003. They asked us many questions about travelling to and living as a student in Singapore.
