My Story

My story is about God’s faithfulness and His will for all of us to be His children. About 11 years ago think that was my first contact with the word of God. A lady selling some Christian books was doing her sales reached my home. Since I was alone, I decided to buy her books since it was cheap and I do not want to hear the persuasion of the lady. But then to my surprise, she did not leave upon my purchase but continue to talk and explain to me about the book. Then I lied that I had something to do and she said she will come the next day to explain again…(sianz) So this went on for another 4-5 times before she met my father one day. Then my father started questioning her and that was the last time I had seen her. But at that time I felt relieved and happiness as there will not be any lady disturbing my playtime.

Then came my contact with the bible. A friend of mine started reading the bible because one of my classmates (girl) happened to be interested in it and he wanted to be able to explain it to her. That was when he told me about what the bible is like a lot of miniature stories but without link and jumbled up. That was when I know that a bible is made up of true accounts and not like Buddhism or Taoism filled with those chanting scriptures.

Then came college. I chose SAJC because all my friends came and that was quite near my house. Then came the O level results and I couldn’t make it back to SAJC. But God had His plan, because I had been selected into college soccer team in the first 3 months, so I was able to appeal back to SAJC and even could continue taking 4 A level subjects in the same class. This came as a surprise because appeal students usually weren’t given 4 A level subjects. Then I went on with college skipping chapel by either hiding in the reading room or going to Paccan for breakfast. Sleeping wasn’t an option for me during chapel as the music was loud, the seat was bad and there were people around asking me to wake up.

Then came army and I managed to meet up with a classmate of mine, Sarah Wong. But because of my fear of being nagged by my father and hardened heart, I didn’t joined her for her Sunday service or cell group until this year January, when an incident softened my heart and made me came to service after service.

This shows that God always wanted me to be His child. He wanted me since I was 11 and ever since he never start giving up on me. He planned of making me to go to SAJC and to be able to take 4 A level allows me to know Sarah, and through her I was able to get to know Him. His faithfulness and persistent of not giving up hope on me, make me what I am today, His child.
