Formed TM NETWORK with Takashi Utsunomiya and Naoto Kine in 1983. After their debut the next year, they quickly drew a Japanese following, soon climbing to No. 1 among groups of the day. In 1989, he began solo work in addition to composing and producing other artists. Many of his works have hit No. 1 in Japan. In 1992, he launched TRF as its sole producer.
