High Elves Preview, Part 1

Dear fellow generals,

The great bearded stuntie wishes to reveal the deep and profound disservice that GW has done again to my mighty race. Not only they took our beloved organ guns and turned them into pathetic constructs that even the gobbos would laugh at, they gave the treacherous pointy ears so many cheesy things!!!! Let this be the day to remember that GW doesn't know game balance and they have destroyed another army book!!

Let me tell what my stealthy rangers have discovered about this most untrustworthy race of scrawny pointy ears......
Intrigue at court- The generals are decided at random at the start of the game. So a hero can be the general even though there is a lord present. Typical pointy ear stupidity.......
Stoic- Against DE, all HE are immune to panic.
Prince (lord) 125pts, Archmage (lv 3 mage) 220pts + 35pts for another level. Commander (hero) 70pts, Mage (lv1) 95pts. Dragon (1hero slot) 320pts, Griffon (200pts), Great eagle (50pts). You don't want to know the stats of the dragon........ think the number 6......
Core Units: Archers(12pts), Spearman(11pts), 0-1 Lothern Sea Guard(15pts), Silver Helms(19pts). 1 unit of spearman or silver helms can have magic standard worth 25pts. Spearman & Sea guard fight in 3 ranks.
Special: Ellyrian Reavers(18), 0-1 Dragon Princes(26), 0-1 Swordmasters(13pts), Shadow Warriors(15pts), Tiranoc Chariot(85pts). Reavers are fast cav, dragon princes have dragon armour (5+ save, immune to all fire-based attacks and magic), SM strike in I order, SW are scouts, skirmish, hate DE, Chariots are 2-for-1 slot.
Rare: 0-1 Phoenix Guard(15pts), RBT(100pts), 0-1 White Lions(13pts), Great Eagle(50pts). PG causes fear, RBT & GE are 2-for-1slot, WL are woodsmen, lion cloak(+2 save vs. missile), bodyguard.
Champions of DP, SM, PG, WL can have magic items worth 20pts.
Dragon armour (5+ save, immune to all breath attacks, and any fire-based attack(including spells from Lore of Fire)), Lion Cloak (+2 armour save vs. missile fire), Ithilmar Barding (like normal barding except it doesn't slow down my lunch)
HE Honours: Pure of Heart (free, must be given to a character, he and unit he joins is immune to Panic, if killed loses 100 vp), Lion Guard (45pts, comes with lion cloak, he and unit becomes stubborn, white lions becomes special unit), Loremaster (40pts, character becomes level1 mage, cannot cast spell with wearing armour), Swordmaster (40pts, comes with great weapon, cannot take magic weapon, killing blow, strike in I order), Seer (30pts, mage only, can choose spells instead of rolling), Channeller (10pts, mage only, may cast spell with max +1 more Power dice than normal). Each character can only have 1 honour and more than 1 character can take the same honour.
Magic. +1 to dispel. Not cumulative if have more than 1 mage. Can use High magic or any of the 8 lores of magic. In addition to 1 spell per level, ang mage that practices High magic knows Drain magic spell.
Drain Magic Spell. Level 1/2/3, Casting number 5+/7+/9+, Dice Rolls Discarded 6s/5s & 6s/4s, 5s & 6s. Any single enemy wizard within 24" of caster. Spell lasts until start of caster's next magic phase.
Rest of spells see my posting in the forum.
See the Portent.net rumours on Skaven!!!! How did the rats get in here?! It's the number 13!!!!! Thunderers, aim and fire at will!!!!! Bang! Bang!!! Flame those mutants!!! Burn them all!!! Drop the stone in the hole!!!! Arr.... I guess 16"........ oh, no scatter..... RE-ROLL!!!....... HIT HIT!!! Killed that damned rat. Now.... where were we?
Magic items: Buy the book, you cheapos!!! All the magic items are at least 20& cheaper than ours. The items are gross........
Comments: Core knights. We thought we are done with the mistake that GW must have made about empire core knights.... well think again.... we can now face a fully mounted cavalry army that charges you from 18" away. Light chariots that are 2-for-1 slot. This army is now the fastest army in the warhammer world. You can have the flying circus, and so many knights which move 9" and charge 18". Magic? These guys rule!!! With Drain magic spell, an easy roll of 7+, all 5s and 6s are discarded and so nobody can ever get his spells through, not to mention, it is impossible to get it irresistible. Vaul's Unmaking is insane for armies with lots of magic items. Flames of the Phoenix is not as gross as Curse of Years but it works better against troops that are T3 and not much armour. Fortune is Fickle will mess up any wizards so badly because any doubles rolled is a miscast as well as a failed dispel attempt. I hate to say this but HE are superior to DE in almost any and every way.
Stupid GW logic: HE have T3 so they need help to survive. Result, cheapest magic items in the world (some even better than my combo runic items), core cavalry, fight in 3 ranks, super magic spells, impenetrable magical defenses, and more than decent troops. Implications, everybody needs to load up wizards just to stop his magic and essentially "waste" the pts since their spells won't get through. In a 2k battle, you could be using up to 300+ pts just for that purpose. Then you'll have to deal with cavalry that moves like lightning and charges you when you step out of your home. What did DE get for being T3? Nothing!!!! Therefore, what is logic for HE being so unbalanced?

On the whole, my rangers have done a fantastic job in delivering this information!! Trust the pointy ears themselves to know their own army details!! I speak the truth as my beard is long and my hair is not orange yet. My stunties are short and slow, but once I am within 8", you can run but you cannot hide!!!!! Hahahahahaha!!!!!!
