Keeping | These are one of the hardiest of the gold fishes. These are said to have
originated in Japan. These fish are single tailed flat bodied fishes that are
ideally streamlined for fast swimming and to live in streams that have strong currents. These are excellent competitors for food and should not be kept with their slow moving fancy relatives. These are easy to care
for. There are two types London and Bristol type. Basically these are Western Common Gold fishes, that are
calico. They are long and sleek and flat sided. They come in a multitude of colours. The colours mostly are mixture of silver, yellow and metallic orange, deep red, dark blues, violets, blacks. The more darker the hues are the more valuable is the fish. The Bristols tail is forked and wider where as the London's tail is more squared off.
They are ideal for ponds and indoor fish tanks. Life expectancy is 10 to 20 years.
Extremely fast swimmers and very competetive. They do better in ponds than in
in-door aquariums. They can withstand wide temperatures and are ideal for outdoor ponds
