Keeping | These are the hardiest of the gold fishes. These are the native
wild form of gold fish, which have been developed into a hybrid form with a fantail like tail.
These are relatively slow swimmers compared to common gold fish with a single forked tail but still
excellent competitors for food and should not be kept with their slow moving fancy relatives.
These are easy to care for and also grow upto
10 inch size. They are ideal for ponds rather than indoor fish tanks. Life expectancy is 5 to 10 years.
The young are bluish and colour and change to metallic orange as they grow. Wakin Gold fish is tapered at the
head and caudal penduncle is flat bodies and is wider in the middle. It is deeper in height and wider in
width than Comet gold fish. Its fins are classic, erect dorsal fin, Fantail caudal fin, well proportioned
pectoral and ventral fins. Fast swimmers and very competetive. They do better in ponds than in
in-door aquariums. They can withstand wide temperatures and are ideal for outdoor ponds
