* 100-Days-Old ~ Duck Drumstick Treat*
Do i have to eat this, Daddy? Hmmm... mommy's milk tastes better! Look at the oily evidence!
Today is the 7th day of the 1st Lunar Month, it is ‘Ren Ri’ or Everyone’s Birthday. I am 100-days-old today.
Mommy and Daddy brought me to visit Lu Yishi at her husband’s
Chinese medical shop at Upper Cross Street.
(yishi = chinese sinseh) Lu Yishi works at Thong Chai Medical Institution
and without her, maybe there is no me today!
Mommy and Daddy are very grateful to her for helping to bring me into this
world.
After that, we went to Tiong Bahru Market to visit Auntie
Angeline and buy a lot of fruits for the Pai Ti Kong festival tomorrow. Auntie
Angeline’s Por-Por told Mommy to buy a duck drumstick for me when she found out
it was my 100-days birthday.
Mommy asked her why and she said it is to ensure that I have plenty to eat in
future!!!
Daddy agreed and quickly went off to look for a duck rice stall. The first stall
holder was very proud and refused to sell
Daddy the duck drumstick! We are still wondering why! At the second duck rice
stall, Daddy asked the stallholder
to give him a packet of duck drumstick WITH rice. Guess how much it
costs? $5.50! So expensive right!
Anyway, I only ‘tasted’ it (look at the oily evidence!), Daddy’s the one who got
to eat it!
