Poems from the heart

& WORDS OF WISDOM

SONNET OF LOVE UNKIND

Why love picked me to treat unkind?
To wound me so, I know not why?
Made me love to torment my mind,
A taken heart; left me to cry,
Love winged my hopes and let it soar,
Then shot it down with great despair,
Set a pain in my heart to gnaw,
Oh love! Why art thou so unfair?
I toss at night till I awake,
To sleep, I see her in my dreams,
A thousand times my heart did break,
Why love? take me to such extremes,
My story ends too sad to tell,
I bid my darling; "Fare-thee-well."

Wings Of Love

The wings of love embraced my feet,

Lifted me above; Three times high,

Fear echoed my lonely heartbeat,

Comfort crept to tell you nigh,

A raging sea that now has lost,

Passion mirrors a fiery sky,

Burdened I live to count the cost,

Of fighting time, I'm left to cry,

From one that watches fairys dance,

Love must be a dreamy illusion,

A poetical trance perchance,

Mingled with utter confusion,

Prithee almighty; End my pain!

May wings of love flutter again!

CONFLICT OF THE HEART

My will creeps within me to slay my heart,

Merely to save me from further despair,

Vowing by love to keep us far apart,

To set my heart free from this painful snare,

A dying heart which refuses to die,

Praying only that true love will prevail,

Fights a losing battle to pacify,

A tormented mind left mortally frail.

Teacher Will You Remember?

Teacher will you remember the student,

who made you sigh?

Cause there will come a day when,

I'll have to say goodbye,

I'll never forget you were always,

there to lend a helping hand,

And when we part, only sweet memories

remain as our best friend,

Teacher will you remember the joy,

and sorrows shared together?

Your trying to mould my character,

being gentle as a feather,

Teacher you have lived up to your name,

in time I'll do the same,

But if I fail, i have no one

Only myself to blame.

LOVE

Love can soar to the highest pinnacle of ecstacy,

It can also crumble to the very depths of excruciating misery,

Love from deep within is inspiring, exhilarating and intoxicating,

But when it turns sour, the body and mind it will devour,

Leaving a tragic ending.

Love ?

Heavy laden with sorrow in your heart,

Confusion yields a mild insanity,

A pang thru the heart as swift as a dart,

Questions a true love's integrity,

In the wings of time, you'd find peace of mind,

Your tears of pain is but a wisdom gained,

Memories will no longer make you blind,

To the deception of affection feigned.

Question Not

Do you love me as I love you?

A question which should not be asked,

If love's presence is in us both,

The answer is found let doubts pass.

Untitled

 I wish I were blind,

To what I can see,

Never can be mine,

Beautiful is she,

Love gave me a dime,

Then asked for it back,

Perhaps it's not time,

To fall for love's act.

JULIANUS JOSEPH T.E.C.

LIESL

Love of my heart, lullably of my dreams,

Intricately carved out of heaven's beams,

Embraced by angels the one I adore,

Shall hear the harp of love forevermore,

Life holds no barriers for I do love you

DESIDERATA

Go placidly amid the noise and haste and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly;and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself to others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

Keep interested in your own career, however humble, it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is, many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life if full of heroism.

Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline be gentle with yourself.

You are the child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have the right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labours and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace with your soul.

With all it's sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy.

I Said A Prayer For You Today

I said a prayer for you today

And know God must have heard

I felt the answer in my heart

Although he spoke no word!

I didn't ask for wealth or fame

( I knew you wouldn't mind )

I asked him to send treasures

Of a far more lasting kind!

I asked that He'd be near you

At the start of each new day

To grant you health and blessings

And friends to share your way!

I asked for happiness for you

In all things great and small

But it was His loving care

I prayed the most of all!

SHORT QUOTES

* Be like the rose, which perfumes the hand that crushes it.

* God grant me the serenity to Accept the things I cannot change, the Strength to change the things I can, and the Wisdom to know the difference.
