One Fine Day

One fine day, while John, Ben, Mary and Jane were strolling in the National Park, John smelled the honey in a beehive. The hive was hanging on a low branch, so John decided to take some of the honey home.

John and the others went around looking for stones. When they had all found a stone each, they started aiming at the hive. John managed to hit the hive. The hive landed on the ground. Honey spilled out of the hive. John and the others went forward to get the remainder of the honey in the hive. Little did they know that there were bees in the hive. All of a sudden, a swarm of bees came flying angrily out of the hive. The bees started to chase them.

The children took to their heels as they were afraid of being stung by the bees. They ran as fast as possible to get away from the angry bees, but to no avail.

John was not a good runner, so he had to use more energy to keep up with the others. They kept looking behind them to see whether the swarm of bees had stopped chasing them. They did not see a fallen branch on the ground, so they tripped over it. But they managed to get up in time.

After they had run out of the park, the bees stopped chasing them and flew away. John, Ben, Mary and Jane got a few cuts on their knees and elbows. They had learnt their lesson and never dared to go near any beehive again.
