John's Unlucky Day Written by Joyce (4A5 2003)

One morning, it was raining heavily. A pupil, John, was running towards the bus stop. He did not realize there was a puddle of water in front of him. He stepped into it, slipped and fell down. All his clothes were wet. He even lost both his pair of shoes. He took off his socks. Suddenly, a snake appeared. It had a yellow body and two red eyes. John was scared. In his hurry to get away, he left his bag on the pavement. While he was running, he did not see a muddy drain in front of him. He fell into the drain. When he got up, he was all muddy. Just then, a taxi passed by. It splashed water on John. He was totally drenched. While he was walking, John felt a sharp pain in his left sole. He realized that he had stepped on a rusty nail. He sat down to examine his sole. Blood was oozing from the hole that the nail had made in his sole. Suddenly, a dog came and barked at John. John tried to flee but the dog caught up with him and bit him. John cried in pain. A lady called for an ambulance. Soon, an ambulance came and brought him to the hospital.
