Rondalla Activities

    1990
    November 27, the group together with La Ronda (formed by the alumni of NUS Rondalla), the Marymount Convent Rondalla and the special guest Los Troubadours, performed "Fiesta Rondalla" at the Singapore Conference Hall. The repertiore for NUS Rondalla included Dalagong Filipina, A Man without Love, Menuetto By Boccherini, and This is the Month of May. La Ronda performed Ballet from Rosamunde By Schubert, and Zapateado from the Spanish Suite. Marymount Rondalla performed Pearly Shells, Sunrise Sunset, and La Compasita. Guest stars Los Troubadours entertained with Eres Tu, Memory (from Cats), Funiculi Funicula, and I just Called to say I love you, among other pieces. 9 years had passed since the establishment of NUS Rondalla, and the experience was one great adventure in music making. Enthusiasm was on the rise among students and graduates of the ensemble and the relaunch of the concert was expected to be the launchpad as well as for the 10th Anniversary the following year with newer and more exciting programmes.

    November 12th, NUS Rondalla performed for the Westin Hotels and Resorts Star Performer Presentation held at Stamford Ballroom.

    NUS Rondalla performed a Lunch-time concert on the 7th of September at the NUS Forum.

    4th August, NUS Rondalla performed for the Carnival Opening of the National University of Singapore 10th Anniversary Celebrations Carnival Day. The Carnival emphasized on its contributions to society, as well as the "unity in diversity" of its 8 different Faculties, since its establishment on 8th August 1980.

    26th July, the group performed a Lunch-time performance at the 50th floor of the Overseas-Chinese Banking Corporation Limited (OCBC Bank) Centre.

    4th July 1990, NUS Rondalla (CMA Rondalla) performed at the opening show for the NUS Campus Concert 1990 at LT 13, NUS.
