Rondalla Activities1997 27 Nov 1997, NUS Rondalla performed 'Tinilking' and 'Eternal Spring' during WITS Day. Held at NUS LT 13, the opening address of the event was said by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Chong Chi Tat. The event included team presentation, skits of teamwork = productivity and the NUS Experience. 24 September, NUS Rondalla performed a lunchtime concert at the Jurong Town Corporation. 4th September, the group performed lunchtime music 'Thursday Concerts Music at the Museum and Gallery' at the Ng Eng Teng Gallery, NUS. The performance was open to the public. 10 members of the NUS Rondalla ensemble performed at East View Secondary School and Pasir Ris Secondary School on 9 July and 21st July respectively, as part of the Arts Education Programme 1997. The ensemble's annual concert repertoire included 'Stierkampfmusik', 'Notte di Christallo', 'Fandango', 'Themes from the Godfather', ' The Breeze and I', 'Edith Piaf Sings', and 'I have lost my Euridice'. A mandolin and guitar duo performance of 'Petite Bolero', a quartet 'Intermedio from Carmen', and a mandolin and keyboard duet of 'Adagio Ma Non Troppo' were featured in the concert. The Locrian, guest performers for the night, was a five member band formed in 1995. Essentially an amateur jazz band, the band experiments in contemporary popular music.
