Rondalla Activities

    2002
The year ended with a happy gathering and dinner by the ensemble members and alumni.

December 2 to 5, the members attended the Center for the Arts' Genesis Creative Arts Camp. Made non-residential, the camp made a radical breakthrough in inviting acclaimed musicians like guitarist Martin Mastik, group Festival of Four, pianist Flavia de Souza, and tenor Agim Hushi to conduct master-classes and workshops. Tutor Dominic Wan got to show his creative improvisational skills during the Tutor's Jam session at the camp finale. The members found the master-classes and workshops interesting and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, particularly their interactions with the Festival of Four.

In October, the ensemble performed a short 15-minute performance at Hotel Meritus Negara Singapore for the NUS Museums Dinner and Dance. The performance was very well recieved.

The Rondalla annual concert was held in March at the University Cultural Centre. The repertoire consisted of all-time favorites such as Sukiyaki and Autumn Leaves. The concert was the NUS Rondalla's first official performance with tutor Dominic Wan.
