End
of Year 2003: Tough Year ahead for 2004
"...SARS and war have affected us
deeply, what's next?..."
Whew.... It's finally year 2004! Though it may seem
WOLS, but I still like to wish all fans a happy new year!
It seems like 2003 is a pretty short year! Just when I gotten
used of writing 2003 on my dates, it's already 2004. A lot
really have happened in my life, let's look back one by one!
1) SARS
- Who can ever forget this dreadful disease which has at least
taken away hundred of lifes and left thousands ill and quarantined.
This shows that how vunerable we are to nature. This also
shows how cruel we can be when it comes to our own survival.
The extermination of stray cats. Just coz the cats may carry
the SARS virus, they exterminated them one by one, claiming
that it was to control population. Well, not up to me to comment.
You be the judge. And who can forget the heroes who fought
so hard against the disease. This is also a time when the
true spirit of mankind, where we stood united against what
that may lead to mankind's extinction.....
2) War
at Iraq - ...and of course, we love BUSH (beat up Saddam Hussein),
but the war at Iraq seems so redundant yet so neccessary.
We all know that SH is a tyrant. If US were to secure their
economic interest at Middle East (oil, mainly), he is certainly
a stumbling block. Who knows, it may be a consipiracy which
they merely took WMD as excuse? This war has severely hurt
the economy (I dun know how deep, but it certainly affects
Singapore). Well, it's too far away, therefore I can talk
about it until now...
3) My
worst period in poly - the period between January to May seemed
to an off-peak period for me. I cant exactly blame it on Darrell,
the guy which has been with me for at least 4 projects. But
he is one of the factors why I scored so poorly for my assignments.
Nevertheless, the main factor is still the stress I encountered...
But it was also a test of my character, when I helped several
people with their ASP projects... But ok lah, getting an A
for WEBA isnt a simple business anyway, especially when I
was the only one who got A for its test at my class. (and
I finished the paper in 45 minutes. No one even dared to do
that).
4) Attachment
plus Part-time - Second half of the year saw a better time
for me this year. I went to Sitel (Singapore) Pte Ltd for
my attachment. It is no doubt one of my best periods in my
life. I got a good colleague, a good boss and made very good
friends there. Towards the end, I took up a new project there
for part time. Pay not that good, but I was satisfied. I was
happy there and though distance far, I still went. Everything
was just too right for me to reject their offer. Of course,
coming to the end, I made another new friend, Dwayne. Never
expect to click off with him at day 0. I will always remember
my days there...
5) My
period in IRC chatrooms - The chatrooms are always a virtual
attachment to my life, an emotional attachment to my heart.
I guessed... someone comes in deep to my life. I guessed,
it's deeper than Cheryl loh. And she did it in barely one
month... anyway she is just a good friend to me, dun think
otherwise. :-p I began to acknowledge my additional responsibility
in the chatrooms, but I supposed, too late. I will be going
to NS soon.........
Seems
little, but to me, it's a lot! I had already foreseen a tougher
year ahead for 2004. Including my FYP, my YRC committment
and my new perspective to my social life. Maybe, it's just
not so easy to be myself bah~~
