FOREWORD by Samuel Chua
Like all good books, a website shouldn't go without a
foreword. This foreword will be imprinted here not only for
record purpose but also to serve out my ambitions, dreams as well as
the objectives of this website.
Dream
The dream to see my works published was conceived around
1984. The arts scene was not feasible then. It was more
practical to follow the well-beaten paths of my counterparts in
engineering and academics. "At least you can feed yourself.
" was a daily reminder. Not much has changed since
then. The arts scene remained elusive but I have managed to
reach milestones in my dream.
Credits
Not only do I have the honor of seeing my works in print but it was
also a privilege to see it published on the net. Ms See Phui
Yee, an editor with Eye2Eye, was the fairy godmother in my
dreams. She bestowed upon me the opportunity to realize my dream
with an article to the paper under her care. Soon after, Mr.
Keith G Emuang, an associate editor with &Family took over the
correspondence and groomed me further and provided valuable guidance
in my freelance career.
Objectives of "The Art Files"
This website is therefore dedicated to these facilitators of my
dream as well as all who have supported me directly and indirectly in
the pursuing of my dream. The purpose of this website are
namely:
- To parade my articles and achievements.
- To act as goodwill and a contact point for my services.
- To inspire other writers to achieve their dreams.
