The
TRENT VALLEY WAY
Section Two
South start
Thrumpton--Trent Bridge

South of the river, the Way starts at the little village of Thrumpton..

..walking north from the church until the archway of Thrumpton Hall is reached.

The road passes this notice board as the River Trent is approached...

...then follows the cart track running parallel to the river...

...and a line of bushes at the field edge...

..then left into Manor Road in the village of Barton-in-Fabis...

...passing the church of St. George on the left.

...Continue along a track lined by tall hedges.

The Trent sweeps in from Beeston weir to turn left sharply alongside Clifton Grove.

Walk along a well-defined pathway to the Clifton flyover.

Follow this path as it ascends the floodbank.

Cross over the River Trent using the old Toll Bridge.

The old tollgate and house are still intact on the north side...

...with the charge board still clearly visible.

...along the embankment

...past the suspension bridge...

...to approach Trent Bridge, Nottingham.
