The Nightmare Begins

 To love yet be unloved,
A question without an answer.
To sacrifice the love of my life,
A resolution, resigned acceptance.

If I could only close my eyes,
Rest the sleep of death.
Yet my guilt drives me awake,
A secret cross that is mine to bear.

Asylum in shadows,
In the dismal silence.
I spoke to darkness, my confessor.
Tell me, is there a chance for redemption?

I lay down in this forgotten tomb.
Spiral after spiral, spinning,
In an never ending cycle,
My nightmare begins...
