:: SINGAPORE OPEN 2007

The SINGAPORE WEIGHTLIFTING OPEN 2007 will be held right in the middle of Orchard Road at *Scape, Youth Park on Saturday, 18 August 2007.
Head down to *Scape, Youth Park and catch Singapore's national team as they compete with weightlifters from Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand.
There will also be special performances by other sports associations. Guests include Mr Teo Ser Luck, PS of MCYS.

:: CHALLENGE WEIGHTLIFTING @ URBAN INFEST 2005

Urban Infest is one of the event highlights of an inaugural 3-week youth celebration festival called SHINE organised by Ministry of Community Development, Youth & Sports (MCYS) and National Youth Council. It is a one-day carnival that will openly showcase the energy, passion and diversity of interests of Singaporean youths. It's about infesting Singapore with all the possibilities and energy our youths have to offer! It's about challenging your comfort zone and attempting stuff which you have never done before. And Singapore Weightlifting Federation will be part of the event to give everyone an opportunity to try out weightlifting and challenge others to win lots of prizes including a 512MB Apple iShuffle. :: SINGAPORE WEIGHTLIFTING OPEN 2005

The SINGAPORE WEIGHTLIFTING OPEN 2005 will be held at D’Tent, Downtown East, Pasir Ris on Saturday, 2005. Downtown East is our venue sponsor for this high-profile event.

Experience the competitive spirit of our male and female weightlifters from Singapore’s national team, Malaysia and Thailand.

MR NG SER MIANG, IOC Member and an ardent support of weightlifting in Singapore will be our Guest-of-Honour.

One of the highlights is guest lifter, UDOMPORN POLSAK, 2004 Olympic Gold Medallist in the Women's 53kg category who will demonstrate her feminine power and prowess in both categories: the snatch, and clean & jerk. Competitors will register their best lifts out of three in each category.

The other highlight would be for spectators to personally meet with our very own Olympic Silver medallist, TAN HOWE LIANG who is our national coach. HOWE LIANG won in his weight category in 1960 in Rome. He is officially Singapore’s only Olympic winner in over-44 years. This Hall-of-Fame recipient will be featured in the new book, “Singapore Olympians – The Complete Who’s Who 1936-2004” launched on 1 April 2005.
