Flying
Story
The haunted world by Jason Phan
Beloved
nature, you have been savaged. You asked for it, you who hinder
the paths of the mighty and churns the seas of vested interests
as if that is your destiny. I mourn not for your physical ravages;
but your speech - alas for the words you speak! First stifled by
religion and made ignominious by authentic laughable myths, you
are now ignored, at best heard through the distortions of the scientist's
journal. Would that you be sensed for yourself.
Observe,
listen.
Since
when has a silent speech consumed the human race? It is haunting,
unceasing, permeating into the deepest recesses of the most unwilling
mind. And the soul is stirred when one speaks its language - yet
the gentle words meet with violence. We have no time for it, no
desire to bear the possible implications.
Thanks
to the gods we have been indoctrinated and know, often unwittingly,
the comforting response. Evolution - the domain of the scientists,
the professors and the retired. Oh, it has to be true, though we
fathom it not. Though it defies reason, though it has the most spurious
of foundations. For its only alternative is clearly incredible -
for we the citizens of a naturalistic world pledge a priori anti-supernaturalism.
We
have all the reasons to obey. State education teaches evolution
in the name of objectivity and, many thanks to the staggering collection
of 'Did You Know Books?' and encyclopedias, we are inducted, often
unknowingly, into the philosophy of Naturalism. How staggering the
thought that a hypothesis can morph into a fact by sheer repetition
and a desire that it be so!
But
the prerogative to understand and determine for ourselves the truth
has no parallel in life. The consequences of which are nothing short
of life-changing. To the theist, if there is no Creator, you are
living a lie - be freed. To the atheist, should the world be indeed
created, naturalism is the ticket to a grand delusion - and a great
disaster. Let the one who is living consider life.
True
to say, no one is inducted, arms flailing and legs kicking. Through
thought we shall remove the weighty chains and explore the impossible
and the plausible. When we believe we shall know why.
