June 02, 2005
We left there about 9am yesterday morning.  We got down to the river and since the bridge was from the hurricane in 2004 and they hadn't had it replaced, we had to walk a mile 1/2 up the highway to get back on to the AT.  That was much better than trying to cross the river in the rain.  It rained most of the day.  The trail angels left us pop, candy, and cakes at 2 different times.  Made it into War Spur in the evening and spent the night and every one was soaking wet.  There probably was 8 or 10 in the shelter and a bunch of people that tented out
It was so rainy and cold when we got up to the wind rock area, which was like 4000' we just kept moving.  Everything was overcast, so there wasn't many good views at all.  We just kept pushing as fast as we could, the only thing we saw was our feet and some fern.
