Sandgate Toastmasters

What happened last Meeting

14th May 2002

We had a record attendance at this meeting, with 20 out of 21 members (We  missed you, Maurie!) and 5 guests.

Doug proposed a toast to actor Ruth Cracknell, who had passed away that morning.

Wordmaster
Del introduced the word, "maximise," meaning to increase or enhance to the uttermost. Several members were able to maximise their contribution to the evening by using the word.

Round Robin
Lenore, who had been working on a stall at the school fete last weekend, asked, "What kind of a stall would you like to have at a fete?" Some of the suggestions included sweet stall, mango chutney (made by suspect older women, according to Garth,)  fairy floss, camels, mini-bikes, prawns, cakes and biscuits, chocolate fudge, international food, fashion parade and grocery wheel.
