What happened last Meeting

September 11

( A light-hearted meeting, because the tragic events in America that day were yet to happen.)

September is the beginning of Spring in Australia, so our meeting had a "Spring" theme. Several members brought flowers (one even brought flowering weeds!) to decorate the tables.
We were delighted to welcome four guests, Leonie, Doug, Megan, and Ryan.

Round Robin
"Spring Cleaning." was the Round Robin topic, conducted by Caroline. Each person spoke for 30 seconds on the kind of Spring Cleaning they were most likely to tackle.

Table Topics
As we had a very full programme, there were only  three Table Topics - presented by Kellie.

"I love Spring because..." David told a humorous imaginative story set in the jungle.

"What is your favourite flower and why?" Andrew took us back to childhood by describing clover flowers and searching for a four-leafed clover.

"What flower would you choose to be and where would you grow?" Annette talked enthusiastically about roses - for a longer time than usual, because the timer (me) was so engrossed in the topic that she forgot to turn on the red light!

Speeches

There were four speeches, all by relatively new members.

"Is it Discrimination?" This was Del's second speech.(Speak in Earnest) She spoke humorously about her frustration in having to pay so much extra for accomodation when travelling alone.

"Never give up on your Dreams" was the theme of Lenore's first (Icebreaker) speech in which she introduced herself

"Sports Mad, Sports Fad" was Narda's fourth speech, (Show what you mean) Narda successfully used gestures to demonstration the various sports she has particiated in.

"Is it one of those Days?" In this, her second speech, Bing talked about stress and gave some helpful tips on how to deal with it.
