-Punctuation, spelling and capitals will be our focus through the use of our agendas (accuracy in copying messages that model good writing form) and we will also pursue this worthy self-editing goal soon in our personal dictionary/spellers. -P.A.R.I.S. -Reading conferences will be done this week (evaluation of oral reading and reading strategies). -Edmonton Spelling Test: Students will be tested on their spelling skills one final time this year. -Poetry: Students will complete their own poetry anthology. This week, we still hope to complete our ninth and tenth types of poems, Alligator Pie and Acrostic Poem. Whatever poems do not get submitted by Friday will be completed at home, during recesses and lunches. Students will have ample opportunity to read the poems of their classroom peers as they have the added responsibility as peer editors. During the poetry unit, the teacher will read at least one poem per day. Students who have either written or found a poem will be given the opportunity to share them with the class. -Journal Entry: There is no
journal entry this week in order to promote the completion of our poetry
anthologies. |
