Mission Statement
"Our goal as budgies of the world is to never stay mad longer than 10 seconds."
Habit 1: Let your would be owners know who's in charge. Remember YOU are the owner of the human, not the other way around, so use and abuse your immaculate design and desposition to get what you want. This may be the hardest habit, but it is your foundation and must be perfected before moving on to habit 2.

Habit 2: How to be happy when alone. This sounds worse than it is. Being happy on your own is actually a very easy thing and comes very naturally. This is the chance you get to wreck havoc around the house and play with anything you can find whether or not it was introduced to you. We consider time alone the time to explore and find new ways to amuse ourselves. NEVER take that for granted.

Habit 3: How to tell your owner you want to play. This one is pretty easy. Ixster usually flies around the head of a person or starts screaming. Although he has been known to "talk" and cling to the door of the cage, letting everyone know he wants to get out and play. I, on the other hand, am more direct with my "owner." I land on her shoulder quite often. If she's getting dress and ready to leave, I land on her shoe or her head. Anything that gets her attention that tells her I want to play and I come first. Just a minor delay in her leaving gives me that extra boost of authority. When she's typing on the keyboard, I land on it so she can't type. There's no way for her to ignore me there! ;) This is a new one. I have now learned that if she is wearing a hat, to stand on the edge of the visor and lean forward over the rim until I block her view. She will definitely pay attention to me then!

Habit 4: The reason for flying. Flying used to be thought as only 2 things. One: to get from place to place and two: to avoid dangerous situations. It has now become so much more. First of all, it's fun to fly from our "owners" and watch them try to get to us because they CAN'T fly. HAHAHA. Some other reasons to fly are to explore other places in the house you can wonder into or perhaps the ideal...find more toys.

Habit 5: Other weapons. Unlike people, we don't use guns, knives, and fists as weapons. Our weapons are much more concealed. Our number one weapon is our cuteness. I don't know why, but our "owners" find us EXTREMELY cute. So hey, take advantage of it! The more you show you're cute; the more toys, food, and attention you'll get. Snoopy has 10 food cups, while I have my mansion PLUS a vacation home. You'd be surprised how much being cute can get you. I also find that simple trivial things such as walking, running, leaning back and putting my ear up to my toys amuses them. Can you believe that?!?!?!

Habit 6: How to teach your "owner" a "lesson." Since we are normally peaceful budgies, we don't really teach our "owners" a lesson. We just gently remind them how boring their lives would be without us. For example, we don't sleep when they want to play, so I feel the same courtesy should be shown for us. Since I like to play 24/7, when my "owner" takes a nap on me, I land on her stomach and walk up to her face. If she still isn't awake, I walk on her face and that definitely wakes her up, but to show it isn't mean spirited, I then proceed to preen her eyebrows and hair. So all is forgiven. :)

Habit 7: Never stay mad longer than 10 seconds. This is the KEY to success. This habit encompasses all of the other 6 habits. It's okay to get mad, but the fact that you don't stay mad is essential to getting your "owner" to do what you want, to not stress out, and to live and happy life. Both Snoopy and myself have gotten mad at our "owners," but within 10 second you'll hear us start chirping again. Best way to look at this is that the less time you're mad the more time you can eat, play and sleep!
