I like Alberto, but I don't like to see him first thing in the morning. Alberto is in charge of our field and when he is at the door at 7:30 am the news is never good. His morning visits are usually followed by a immediate call to either the vet or the mechanic.
Today, however, was a rare exception to the rule. Sometime during the night one of our best cows delivered a pair of beautiful twin female calves.
Felicita is looking pleased as punch with her new girls while Alberto bottle feeds a calf. The other calf needs some help because she looking for milk at the wrong end of the cow.
We didnt write down when she started sitting but we should have a flock of 14 ducklings running about any day now. Below is a picture of mama duck and her nest. The turkeys have a good sized nest too but I have no idea when they will hatch.
