Jewellery
in this Renaissance category is a "reflection" of pieces seen in
portraits from 1400 through the early 1600's. Reflection items are
not exact reproductions, but they are as close as possible with available
materials. See individual items for specific information.
During each century from 1400 into the early 1600's, jewellery styles included
the simple to the elaborate. These pieces represent those worn by
the nobles and upper class: pearls in abundance, semi-precious and precious
stones in cabochon shape (smooth, rounded top); cameos; gold and silver coloured
metal chain and settings and the limited appearance of faceted stones.
*Many designs on the
website can be made in colours other than show. Specify whether you
prefer white or ivory pearls on the comment line of the order form.*
