Huntingdon,
Cambridgeshire

In 2005 Huntingdon is celebrating the 800th anniversary of the awarding of its Charter of creation as a borough.
Huntingdon is an historic market town. It is also the birthplace of Oliver Cromwell (1599-1658). The town grew up around an important crossing of the River Great Ouse, then from the 16-18th C. it prospered as a coaching stop on the Great North Road.

The old stone river bridge is said to be one of England's finest medieval bridges. Close by the town is the Hinchingbrooke Country Park and the National Hunt Racecourse.
