Here are a few photographs of my undergraduate university, the University of Essex. It's situated in the small, historic borough of Colchester, near the Essex/ Suffolk border. Colchester is a beautiful town, first recorded in the Roman times as Camulodunun, and is the oldest recorded town in Britain. The town is located by the River Colne, with the town centre on one hill, and the university on the other side. The nearest town, however is called Wivenhoe, and is also an old settlement. Here is a history of Wivenhoe Manors and associated estates, which included Wivenhoe Park, where the University is now sited.

In the upper section are North Towers, and the Houses (Accommodation), and on the lower right side are the South Towers and the South Courts accommodation. South Courts are now much extended and covers most of the are from the road in the bottom right to the trees in the bottom left. |
