New Mutants

Here are some VERY ROUGH priliminary mini-bios of Cannonball's New Mutants Teammates.  I hope to be updating them soon.

Taken prisoner by the alien Brood, the X-men disappeared into space & Professor Charles Xavier assumed they were dead.  Moira Mactaggert urged him to start a new team to ussure that his dream of peaceful co-existance between mutants & humans live on.  He collected young mutants from around the world to form this new team. But, shortly after the team was formed Professor Xavier had to leave Earth.  He turned over the school to Magneto.  Magneto had abandoned his drive for power when Moira Mactaggert had tampered with his mind & altered his personality, so Professor Xavier felt that his new students would be safe with Magneto.  But, slowly as time went on, Magneto's true personality returned & he abandoned the school & students. New members continued to join, but without adult guidance the team began to drift apart.  Finally Cable, a warrior from the future, reorganized the remaining New Mutants into the nucleus of a new team.  When Professor Xavier returned from Space, the New Mutants had become X-Force.

(Cannonball) Samuel Guthrie:

Sam Guthrie comes from Cumberland, Kentucky where he had been a coal miner.  Sam joined the New Mutants after leaving Donald Pierce, a Member of the Hellfire Club for whom he had been working for as a mercenary, after Pierce had killed Dani Moonstar's Grandfather & Roberto Da Costa's girlfriend.  Sam, Karma & Wolfsbane were the original New Mutants..

(Dani)Danielle Moonstar:

Dani & Sam are about the same age (Dani is a few months older than Sam).  Durning much of the team's time together Dani & Sam appeared to share leadership of the team.  Dani is Cheyenne.  Dani has the ability to manifest images from the minds of others as three-dimensional illusions.  Dani spent time as a Valkyrie & now has the ability to sense death or dying energies.

(Magma)Amara Aquilla:

Amara comes from Nova Roma in the Amazon Rainforest.  She was the daughter of a senator in this civilization that modeled itself after ancient Rome. Amara's powers manifested when she was to be sacrificed by Selene.  She has the power to induce small earthquakes, bring lava to the surface & generate intense heat.

(Sunspot) Roberto Da Costa:

Bobby comes from Brazil & is Sam's best friend.  Bobby can have an attitude problem sometimes.  Bobby can draw energy from the sun to give him superhuman strength.

(Warlock):

Not a mutant but a young member of an alien race called the Technarchy.  These alien's techno-organic bodies resembe living machinery.  Warlock can change shape at will.
