Hatching #2
Nuar'zja and Wraak'czan's clutch

Thunder cracked overhead and water fell from the inky black sky in irregular sheets. When the storm reached it's peak, Nuarth's call for the bonders went out as a shrill scream against the howling winds.
Gargavoith and Pollux snatched bonders from windows, while Kogeki and Yubinath stole them from beneath sheltering overhangs. Regina's Cszibor drove more from their beds and out into the massive courtyard for retrieval.

The rain fell mercilessly on the assemled, the few spectators huddled under umbrellas or wrapped in water-resistant oilskin cloaks. The bonders had no such amenities. Some of those who survived this ordeal would surely catch cold.
The first wave of tiny beasts surged forward, their wriggling bodies propelling them far from the shards of their confinement, the winged ones attempting to get airborne - some succeeded, some were eaten by their brothers.
The winged serpent Ser-aaliss hissed at them, and two of the stronger ones broke away and twined around his neck. I am Masien said the larger of the two - a shiny black male. and I am Chiria said the smaller bloody female.
The second wave quickly followed the first, and most of the larger beasts began hunting the lesser ones. None of these showed any interest whatsoever in the human and inhuman beings presented them. Even the rain soaking the arena didn't cause them to falter in their bloodhunt.
The third wave tumbled out in a mess of heads and wings and tails - not so many beasts, but a generous amount descended on the greater and lesser beasts in a rain of carnage.
After nearly swallowing a wingless ashy beast whole, a two-headed beast with twin tails turned to the bonders. He headed directly for the werewolf Rothit, who barely managed to sidestep the swinging attack from the bluish beasts barbed tails. "That's the way, Cerijan..." the were rumbled. "Now attack yourself some seconds..."
A larger beast, muzzles bloodied from her own feasting sauntered over to the bonders. Her four eyes locked with the two of the Feln assassin Avenna, and the moonlit black beast swung her tails, locking the barbs into the girl's legs. "Simoesh!" the feline-girl roared, naming the beast in her anguish. That will keep you here long enough for me to grow up some.
The fourth wave of beasts was just as large as the third, save that the beasts themselves were larger and deadlier. A pair of slime-green beasts, three heads and two tails each, circled each other, roaring madly and snapping. It quickly became apparent that one was male, and the other female, though size and color alone did not indicate either. Soon the two were one snarling snapping bleeding ball of beast flesh, and within a few heartbeats it was over. The male stepped away from the female's carcass, and lesser beasts raced forward to feast upon it. The male, having drained the lifeblood from his deceased sibling, now turned to the bonders. The drow Nyssack had a twisted smirk on his face, and the slimey beast walked directly up to him, tails twitching. ussta kaas zhah Etiethien the beast hissed in his triple tongue. "Usstan inbal nindol zhaunil." The dark elf snarled back. "Dos ph' usst." Emari, who was habitually translating for the drow half stared. Obviously he and his beast understood each other now...
Meanwhile, a large wingless beast was making short work of two smaller beasts simultaneously. Having four heads was clearly to the advantage of the red beast! When he reached for a third, a voice halted him. "She could be ours, Azmaveth." The beast didn't flinch when the bonder spoke his name, nor did he take his eyes off the simple dragonet before him. You escaped unharmed thus far. Name yourself and join us. The beast said, then added calmly. Or die. The mud colored female looked up to the substantially larger male. I would be Zuresh, Asmave'tyan. she said, honoring him with the formal title. The beast grinned and directed her towards his chosen -- the assassin Zenkai.
The fifth wave of beasts was smaller, but deadlier by far. A wingless beast with four heads and four tails planted herself in a portion of sodden sand that was gore-free, and roared. FEED ME! None of the bonders moved. However, the sand began to move, ever so slightly, and then it burst in wet globules several feet in front of the large beast. An ashy colored beast struggled up, a trio of small colorful beasts clutched in his jaws. He laid them before the four headed beast and then skittered out of reach, chasing after further quarry. When a smaller three headed beast reached for that gray male, the larger one broke its neck. Stupid beast... anyone can see that Thanatos is ours. The beast said as she crunched through the bones of her adversary. Tell them Morte. "Delsie claims Thanatos; I claim them both!" Morte roared against the storm winds.
Having sated her hunger, a poisoned purple female charged towards the candidates, laughing in her fiendish way as lesser beasts scrambled out of her way -- twin heads, twin tails, and twin sets of wings, she was the perfect match for... Emari dropped down onto the beasts back, pinning her to the sand. So you win... The beast said, eager to get the succubus off her back. Emari laughed. "Shimari..."
The sixth wave of beasts yielded but one, and when a four headed beast from the previous wave saw the small ashen beast, she lunged upon it, tearing out his four throats with her four heads. There was no fight. Solana just grinned. What else could she do? Revenge was hers, in the form of blood red Cayndra.
