Hibernation

The leaves turned and fell
later this year than last
life, these days, is slower
than those warmer days of past

I'm in no real big hurry
to find love and keep it
you reap what you sow, and I
planted silence, now I reap it.

Harvest arrived here stumbling
tumbling on shards of my laughter
turning them into liquid, just
to freeze them in the season after.

I suppose I'll have to get up
and start moving around eventually
wave goodbye to the moon and forget
how you lost your love for me.

But for now, I stay in hibernation
and remember the life love used to bring
it hurts to move so fast right now
so I lay asleep and wait for Spring.
