Throw It All Away

Throw away those old shoelaces
they’ll only trip you up again
you can’t just shrug it off
and say it’s only skin

Throw away the radio
before you cry on one more song
can’t let it roll off your back
it’s in your heart where it don’t belong

Throw away the suitcases
toss them overboard and watch them sink
you can’t keep them in the closet
you’ll always open it up and think

Throw away the photo album
it will only cause you pain
like time in a bottle, stuck,
never to be retrieved again

Throw it all away today
close your eyes, let it through-
open them wide tomorrow
and start all over brand new
