Easyworld - Coventry Colloseum - 16th Feb 2001
Supporting King Adora, Crackout were there too. Got there a bit late, never heard of Easyworld but were pretty damn impressed, especially with the three songs we remembered, once called hundredweight, another junkies and whores and one about wanking, Try not to think.
Easyworld - Leicester Charlotte - 17th May 2001
By this point we had managed to download a version of hundredweight from napster (oh yes the joys of easyworld on napster) and were so thrilled with it had purchased both the single and vinyl version of the song. This time myself and will were accompanyed by wills sister rosie, on driving duty. Stood on the little steps bit stage right and went thouroughly mad. Jo winked at me (honest - look i was only 17)!! I dont remember many Easyworld fans, once again King Adora were the headline. Hundredweight sounded superb as did bleach and a new one on us which we later identified as Lights Out.
Easyworld - Wolverhampton Varsity - Sometime summer 2001
By this point we owned a copy of the mini album. We were again accompanied by Rosie, but also a work pal Seafood fan and his brother. Absolutely blinding gig. Recognised Darren from his site, and a new institue was born.
YES, the wolverhampton Varsity was the birthplace of THE QUICHE CLUB, that famous sign was hand-written with the pen whose use was in theory, solely for signing up to the mailing list. Went crazy to every song. Demons was played for the first time and another new one. Met the band after and they signed the sign and chatted for a while. Seafood were not too inspiring, but on listening to the tape Rob gave me since, i like it.
Train journey home was one of the funniest events EVER! well almost, but i wont bore u with the details.
Easyworld - Leicester Charlotte - 1st Feb 2002
Supporting Cooper Temple Clause, who are pretty alright, but even thought i'm predujice, easyworld stole the show. Ocean Size were the most bollocks band i've ever seen though. Sorry guys, u were trying hard though and i couldnt do any better. Lots of easyworld fanatics were there too which was kinda nice to see. Dav sprung a leak in the nasal department and was a sweet gesture when some fan through her mini-kleenex pack to him!
Easyworld drum made its first appearance that we had seen and Glenn was on fire! and he and jo were grateful of the Quiche Club good luck card we gave them, JO even took time to read all the lyrics to Quiche and Better Ways To Clean Out Muck we printed on it.
Dissapointed not to hear Lights out or Better Ways or Hundredweight though.
Easyworld - Wolverhampton Wulfrun Hall - 7th March 2002
Ahh, the bluetones, the most fantastic band of all time it would seem. Fair enough some eayworld fans slag them off but alas, me and will were determined to have the most fab gig ever, and we did.
Arrived early enough to put a good few pints in our fave Wolves pub the Varsity and then went on down, bought an easyworld tie and got some more drinks in. We were both dressed in Dav style white shirts and black ties and started singing bluetones songs on request from other fans rather out of tune! Then i felt the ill affects of having a cold and drinking and had to exit to the lavatory only to miss Easyworld coming on stage, but i didnt miss any of the songs. They opened to Bleach and went through all the now classics except Better Ways. You and Me sounded bangin as did demons.
Held up a second sign and Jo smiled, then after the gig they recognised us and came out to say hi. Chatted for about 25 mins which was really cool of them. Glenn told us he loved the bluetones, and we made an exit to see them. Came on to Solomon bites the worm. AMAZING, played everything cool. Loved them to bits, will crowd surfed 2.15 metres to Slight Return which everyoen around found VERY amusing!
Then we went home. WOW
