Wheeler Peak, highest point in New Mexico

Columbine flowers in Weminuche Wilderness, Colorado
with Windom Peak in the background

I have been hiking and skiing since I was old enough to walk, backpacking since I joined the Boy Scouts in Middle School, and working with search and rescue since my senior year in high school. Living in Los Alamos, which is surrounded on three sides by National Forests and a National Monument on the fourth, I found these activities came naturally (so to speak).  I proudly wasted much of my youth backpacking and hiking in the Pecos Wilderness and the canyons of the Jemez Mountains.

Now that I have moved to Denver, I am in search of a closer paradise, being as how the Windsor Trailhead at Santa Fe Ski Basin is now a six hour commute.  So far, Orli and I have enjoyed trekking through the canyons west of the Peaks to Peaks Highway west of Boulder, by Rollins Pass and South Boulder Creek.

Included here will be internet resources that I find helpful as well as some simple contributions of my own.
