When you think of life and the grand scheme of things, does your mind believe that everything is all about you? If you are not sure, let us go through this quick check list:
1. When you are expecting someone to call and they do not, do you:
a) assume that something may have happened to them.
b) assume that they are just rude or too "busy" to think about you.
2. You are at work and a co-worker borrows some thing from you, (tape dispenser, stapler, cd, whatever) and 2 days later, you realize they have not returned it, and you need it. What is on your mind when you go to get it back?
a) (co-worker) must really be busy. It is not like them to borrow something and not return it.
b) (co-worker) acts like they are the only one who is busy. Now I have to waste my time walking to get something that should have been returned.
3. You are out walking and a bird poops on your head. How do your thoughts work?
a) Man, stupid bird. I guess I will be taking a shower when I get done.
b) Why ME? ugggh, I have too many things that need to be done to add a shower to that list. Oh, life just sucks!!!
If you picked b more than a, honey, you need to get over youself. Life is bigger than you. I, personally believe in God. I believe that He watches over everyone, not just me and not just people who believe in Him. So, I realize that there will be times when people say they will do something and they will forget. There will be times when you need someone and there is no one available, and it is not anyone's fault. They have lives, just like you and they are unavailable, just like you sometimes are. When you believe in something that is bigger than you, or me, or money, or work, or nature, you realize this is a big world, and everything doesn't always run smoothly. It does, however run consistantly, so eventually, it will smooth out.
Be blessed
