A Reasonable Story

BANG!  All of a sudden there was a loud thump.  The teacher slammed his hand down on a desk.  Jason jumped exceedingly with disbelief.  It was last period.  Biology.  As soon as all the kids quieted down once again, Mr. Simmons started babbling about this and that.  Jason wasn’t exactly looking forward to the following weekend.  He was fifteen.  He had brown hair that descended onto his ears and hung around his head in braids.  He dressed quite nattily.  He was wearing a pair of worn-out JNCOs and a two-size too big KoRn t-shirt.  He had six bracelets on each arm and three big, chain necklaces.  He also had black fingernails.  And he loves heavy metal and all kinds of rock music.
That night he was going to his school dance with his best friend Brandon, his date, Anna, and Brandon’s date, Chelsee.  The next Saturday he was going to his older brother Chase’s graduation.
When everybody in the family got home Jason was watching the six o’clock news.  The headlines read, “Flying Saucers have been spotted in the Sahara Desert and in Ski Slopes in Colorado.”  His mother stormed in the house in an angry manner, Jason asked what happened and she said that she got a speeding ticket for going fifty miles per hour in a forty-five miles per hour zone.  His little sister, Melissa came in happy and cheerful as usual.  She plopped down on the couch and quickly grabbed the remote from Jason’s hand and changed the channel.  Jason struggled to get the remote back, but she started screaming, so he decided to get something to eat, because his hunger was growing quickly.  He ate two pieces of toast topped with orange marmalade and a can of tuna fish.  Jason then left to go to Brandon’s house, because he lived just across the street and he was the only one of the two who had a car.  When Jason arrived there it was already 6:45 PM.  They left immediately to pick up Anna and Chelsee.  When they got to their house the two girls had written them poetry and then they headed for the dance.
The gymnasium looked totally different.  There were colorful posters on the once bare walls, of guru’s and unicorns.  The DJ had several different kinds of music ready to get started.
When he got home after the dance he went to bed right away, because he had to get up at 11:45 AM the next day for his brother’s graduation.
The next morning he woke up, jumped in the shower, and put on a black tuxedo.  He felt uneasy so dressed up, but he had no choice.  When they got to the graduation, his brother, Chase was already standing tall.  He was a nice looking young man.  He had combed down blonde hair.  He was perfect in every way.  Except for the six small warts on his left hand.
When it was his turn to go up to the podium, his parents were so proud.  Jason was just sitting there slopped down in his chair.  After the graduation was over his parents made such a big fuss and decided to give him the money to go to Las Vegas, because he had always wanted to go, but never had the time or money so they gave him 400,000 dollars.
When Chase finally got to talk to Jason, he told him that he’d check out at least fourteen music stands just for him.  Jason briefly smiled and thought about how kind his brother really was.
