PROLOGUE : CHAPTER 3

Gero was undoubtedly a genius, Bulma thought as she explored Gero's secret lab. She was amazed that the Red Ribbon Army had access to such advanced technology. She had to admit, she didn't recognize half the devices, and she was an undisputed electronics genius. But unlike Vegeta, she wasn't too proud to admit that there are others better than her.

She came across a headless body. Beside it was the missing head, crushed, but she recognized it nonetheless. "Gero." she said aloud, without any emotion. Killed by his own creations. The bastard deserved it, for abusing his talents, using them to create machines of mass destruction. Something near the body, however, caught her attention. It looked like a remote controller of some sort, but it was crushed to bits. Only a few components were still intact. Interesting, she thought. What was this device that was so precious to Gero? A detonator for the cyborgs, perhaps? She bent down to take a closer look. An uneasy feeling came over her suddenly as she realized she was alone here with the body of the dead scientist. Bulma quickly collected the broken parts of the device, then her eyes swept through the lab one last time before she got on her one-seater plane and flew home. Had Bulma explored more, she might have found a trapdoor to an underground lab in the far corner of the lab, which holds the blueprints of No.17, and more importantly, a tiny foetus growing in a tank which would one day prove to be much more of a threat than the three cyborgs.

Trunks was sitting outside Kame House, thinking about the whole thing. The existence of No.16, No.19 and No.20, who was Gero himself. And Son Goku getting the disease at the wrong time. It would take roughly ten days for the medicine to work. Could they hide out here without the three remaining cyborgs finding them before then? Son Goku can't die, Trunks thought. If he died, then my mission would have been a failure. He'll still won't be able to fight his timeline's cyborgs. That was the whole reason he agreed to go back in time, to save Goku's life, to find a way to destroy the cyborgs, and... to meet his father. And now, Goku was still ill, the cyborgs could come any time and they still haven't a chance against them, and his father turned out to be a selfish bastard who doesn't give a damn about anyone but himself and his pride. What else could go wrong, Trunks thought darkly, his face set in a frown he didn't realize looked exactly like his father's.

Vegeta was angry. He's already a Super Saiyajin and yet he was beaten by that walking tin can?!! "I'm the prince of the Saiyajins! The strongest in the universe!!! I will not be beaten by a mere machine!!!!" Vegeta released his anger by blowing up a whole mountain range with multiple ki blasts. Yes, he realized, there must be another level of Super Saiyajin. And I will reach it first. Then I'll get those machines for what they did to me. And you'll be next, Kakarotto, Vegeta swore.

High above the earth, on Kami-sama's palace, Piccolo waited impatiently for Kami-sama to decide whether to fuse. Make up your mind quick, before it's too late...
