The Youth Contemplating
 by PirateBurn (pirate_burn@yahoo.com)

I've always come to wonder
Why the world can't live in peace
Why people kill each other
In this doomsday hellish bliss
I've always come to wonder
If I ever was needed in this earth
And if I've ever made an impact...
Brought a weary soul to birth.

And I've come to wonder
That maybe I'm here
For others
And not just for myself

I've come to realize
That if I hang on to the old
And cling to the past
Memories mean nothing
And love doesn't last.
That though I am miserable, if I help
Some other who is in need,
Double is my reward
I am a Samaritan to another heart that bleeds.

Sure this world has a lot to give
But each one has just one life to live
And as each day passes in circumstance
I wonder if there's room for another chance.
If I'll still have the courage to live my life
Amid the deceiving, the wrongs and the rights.
I've come to think this is a chance I'll take
Will I be Game Over if I make a mistake?

So help me, God- the world is calling-
To forget the past and the things undone
To be the hope and harbinger of peace
As morrow rises the Millennium sun.
