Ivy is a traditional emblem of fidelity and friendship.
The vine, because it is evergreen,
also symbolized immortality
and eternal life in many cultures in the past.
In ancient Greece,
a wreath of ivy was presented
to newly married couples
as a symbol of their union.

Let us plant with diligence and care the garden of the soil, but let us, with far deeper earnestness, tend the garden of our hearts.
