Sweet and Sour Chicken (or Pork)

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Cut the chicken into bite sized pieces and saute with the oil in a heavy pot until almost done.
  2. Add the pineapple chunks, pepper, and onion and continue cooking.
  3. Mix the liquid ingredients with the brown sugar and cornstarch, add the meat and simmer until the sauce thickens and clears.
  4. Add two drops of red food coloring and mix in.
  5. Serve with rice.

Theory of the Dish

Because this doesn't have breading it is a lot less greasy than the kind you get in restaurants.
